Afrochic Festival 2018
The 2018 AfroChic Festival, as profiled by BlogTO, and curated by Amoye Henry was a bold and immersive celebration of Black creativity, identity, and community in Toronto. As the attorney for the project, I had the privilege of supporting the legal framework behind an event that fused art, fashion, and music with purpose. From curated installations to live performances, AfroChic Festival 2018 created a space where emerging talent and cultural voices could thrive on their own terms. More than just a festival, it was a platform rooted in empowerment, ownership, and expression, a testament to what’s possible when creativity is protected and culture is centered.
