Zamani Thomas, Esq.
After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Mississippi, Zamani Thomas moved to South Florida. He attended Florida International University and enrolled in the Master’s of Economics Program. Following that he attended St. Thomas University School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate degree along with a joint Master’s in Sports Management . While at law school, Zamani was the President and Founder of the student newspaper “Plead the Fifth” as well as the President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, on behalf of which he spoke at numerous conferences around the country.
Immediately after graduation from law school and admittance to the Florida Bar, Mr. Thomas formed Zamani Thomas P.A. to build upon the relationships he gained while in law, business and sports management schools.
Currently Zamani is the managing attorney of Zamani Thomas P.A. and his practice areas are corporate formation, acquisitions & agreements, entertainment, music, media and intellectual property law. Mr. Thomas is also a consultant for entertainment professionals in the music and media industry in Toronto Canada. In both endeavors Mr. Thomas’s client list is vast and includes influential artists, actors and industry professionals.
Previously Mr. Thomas was the Vice President and general counsel of the consulting firm Maven Strategies LLC, based out of Miami FL. The firm dealt intimately with local and state governmental procurement.
As a community activist and educator Zamani is an adjunct university professor of law and economics at St. Thomas University and Miami Dade College and has lectured and conducted workshops at Florida International University’s Legal Studies Institute, instructing such classes as; Contract Negotiation and Development; Economics; Contracts; and Business Law.
In his community endeavors he is the Founder and Executive Director of Toro Action Programs Corp. which is a nonprofit organization aimed at assisting youth in the community in Toronto and Miami; he sits on the Miami-Dade Revitalization Task Force as a board member; acts as a board of director on the Toronto based social justice organization The Forgiveness Project and on the Caribbean Tourism Organization Foundation Board of Directors.
